Intrepid Ibex Fixed Lenovo Y410 Sound Problems
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 also known as Intrepid Ibex. I found out that that this latest version of Ubuntu fixed the sound problems I encountered when I installed Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron to my Lenovo Y410 laptop.

Can you playback a dvd? Mine only working with regular cd or cdr or cdrw
Hi, so sorry for the delayed reply. I have been busy with the holidays and other things.
Anyway, yes, my installationn can play DVDs.
Coming from a fresh Ubuntu installation though, you may need to install additional codecs to enable DVD support.
Alternatively, you can install VLC free player from videolan.org.
